Hi, I'm Magdalena!

Helping women to shape their own career paths is a key driving force behind my work.

As a coach and trainer in Leipzig, I work with clients who are at a turning point in their careers or who wish to shape their leadership roles more consciously. My focus is on reflection, decision-making processes and the question of how people can take on professional responsibility in a way that suits their personality, their working environment and their strengths, interests and values.

As a cultural studies scholar and English language specialist, I am skilled at understanding complex interrelationships and ‘unravelling’ them. I am, so to speak, a structured generalist with an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, who draws on scientific methods and insights in my coaching sessions.

About me

As a systemic coach and process facilitator (trained at the Fachakademie für Sozialmanagement Hildesheim/alexander et kreuzer, a programme certified by the German Coaching Association), I have been working with clients in my coaching practice in Leipzig since 2011. I hold a Master of Science in Applied Positive and Coaching Psychology (University of East London, 2024) and am a certified Senior Practitioner of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.

My first degree was in Cultural Studies and English Language and Literature (University of Leipzig/University of Aberdeen, 2003). In 2021, I completed a one-year advanced training course in Change Management (2Coach, Hamburg). In addition, I have trained in systemic constellations, diversity and innovation facilitation.

With 16 years’ professional experience as a research coordinator and project manager (University of Leipzig, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research, Gallery for Contemporary Art Leipzig, Social Impact Lab Leipzig), I am not only familiar with a range of sectors but also understand what it means to tackle new professional challenges.

How I work

I take a systemic, strengths-based approach, drawing on scientifically grounded insights from positive psychology and coaching psychology. My coaching combines reflection with practical change work and is based on the ROAF Model, which I developed:

Reflect → Own → Act → Flourish.

Reflection and analysis are essential to coaching – of the status quo, a problem, or a need. ‘Own’ stands for recognising and embracing resources: strengths, skills, values. This can emerge in coaching through biographical work (‘What has happened so far…’), strengths profiles from positive psychology, or through dialogue.

Coaching is geared towards developing feasible, realistic next steps; this is what ‘Act’ stands for. “Flourish” is a technical term from positive psychology and stands for well-being and a “good life”. In coaching, the aim is to ensure that the decisions, options and understanding of leadership developed not only fit with the rest of one’s life, but ideally also represent fulfilling, healthy work.

How coaching works

Every coaching process begins with a free initial consultation lasting around 30 minutes, during which we get to know each other and clarify your wishes and expectations for the coaching. We can hold this consultation in person or online.

If you decide to work with me, our sessions will take place approximately every 2–3 weeks. A coaching session lasts 90 minutes, and the content is tailored to the issues you bring to the session.

For organisations or executives whose coaching is paid for by their employer, I am happy to provide a bespoke quote following an initial consultation.

Please get in touch if you are interested in an initial consultation or a personalised quote.
